The Lazio's supporters history starts
in the CURVA SUD, at the end of the '60s, following the 68's movement, when little groups of
youth fans find their place on the Stadio Olimpico's seats.
They were the first "Ultras", and they had names like "Tupamaros, Aquile, Ultras, Vigilantes, NAB, CAST, Marines". But they were also divided to create a real huge fans' crew. So, in the 1971 starts the history of the first real organized group of Lazio's supporters.......the COMMANDOS MONTEVERDE LAZIO, coming from a part of the city of Rome called Monteverde, which will than be called C.M.L. '74, because of the celebration of the Scudetto that Lazio won in that year. In the 1976 the Curva sud's groups decided to reunite them under the name of G.A.B.A., becoming the next year the EAGLES SUPPORTERS, who, with a 56 meters long banner and an english name, will drag the Curva Nord and the team for ten years and more. In the 1978 another group called VIKING appeared in the Curva Sud: they were the most politicized and the hardest group of that period, with a viking's helmet and a bipens axe as their symbols. It's the 28th of october of the 1979, the awful day of italian football, when during the derby between the A.S. Roma and S.S. Lazio, with the A.S. Roma hosting the game; the 15.000 Lazio's fans are in the Curva Nord, when the 3rd of 3 emergency rockets fired by a 17 years old guy from the Curva Sud killed VINCENZO PAPARELLI, a 33 years old Lazio's fan, a family father. In that same year the EAGLES SUPPORTERS decided to transfer themselves to the Curva Nord followed by all the other groups but the VIKINGS, who followed 2 years later. If the 80's were the worst years for S.S. Lazio on the field, it has been exactly the opposite for the lazio's fans, imitated and admired by everybody because of their passion and originality. Lazio's fans found friends in Bari's, Torino's and Triestina's fans, and even if the team was involved in corruption's scandals, demotions and humiliations of all sorts, the Curva Nord always used to win everywhere: 20.000 at Pisa and at Arezzo, 4.000 at Udine, lots of fields like Cava dei Tirreni and Rimini, in 80.000 for Lazio-Catania and Lazio-L.R.Vicenza, and finally 2 times in 35.000 at Napoli for the games against Taranto and Campobasso in which S.S. Lazio conquered the salvation from the Serie C, a salvation conquered on the field by the team and on the streets by the fans who invaded Via Allegri in the 1986 to protest against the League's decisions. It's the 1987 and starting from the game against Padova the EAGLES SUPPORTERS aren't the only group supporting the S.S. Lazio in the Curva Nord because a new group called IRRIDUCIBILI for the first time appeared with their 10 meters' banner, changing from that day the way to support the team by almost every other Italian group eliminating drums and introducing english oriented chants. Obviously there were great contrasts with the EAGLES SUPPORTERS, who wanted to follow the old style of being fans, and these contrats determined their disappearence from the Curva Nord in 1992. With the coming of Sergio Cragnotti as president the S.S. Lazio entered in Europe, and if its fans were before admired in all the nation, now they were known in all the continent thanks to the IRRIDUCIBILI, and even the Coca Cola took their choreographies as a spot for the European Championship sponsorization. Lazio's fans found new friend in Inter's, Verona's, Real Madrid's, Chelsea's and P.S.G.'s fans, and they "invaded" Europe: 4.000 at Dortmund and Vienna, 2.000 against the Atl.Madrid and at the stamford Bridge against Chelsea, 2.000 at Madrid against Real, 20.000 at Parigi, 15.000 at Birmingham, 10.000 at Montecarlo with just 3.500 tickets available, 40 at Belgrado in the '99 with the strafing's taste in the air. 1999-2000's Serie A is the apotheosis, as 5000 fans went against in Via Allegri to protest against the League, because of the championship that was being "given" to Juventus, thanks to an enormous and unacceptable list of refrees' errors in its favour. It was civil war, it was SCUDETTO for the S.S. LAZIO! The 2002-2003 season is really important for the IRRIDUCIBILI because they enter the 15th year of life, and in the same year the S.S. LAZIO decides to give to the Curva Nord the shirt with the number 12, that is officially retired forever and will always symbolize the importance and the love of Lazio's fans. Actually the Curva Nord is guided by the IRRIDUCIBILI with the old C.M.L. '74, the VIKINGS, the BANDA NOANTRI, the group ANNI '70, the VETERANI in the Tribuna Tevere and the LEGIONE in the Curva Sud. The history continues.............the FUTURE is ours!!!!
